Beach Trip

We had such a great time at Galveston on Saturday! We went to celebrate my Uncle Al's and Aunt Tracy's birthdays. It also happened to be Braelyn's first beach trip. It was perfect because Uncle Al had a beach house right on the water. When we first got there, we went straight out to the beach. The first thing Brae did was pick up a handful of muddy sand and stick it in her mouth while saying "BEANS!" She loves re-fried beans, and I guess I can see the resemblance. Too funny! Braelyn was a little scared of the water touching her feet, and she didn't really understand why her feet felt like they were moving with the tide. But she LOVED going in the water with Brad while they jumped waves. The sun and sand tired her out quickly though, and she had to go in for a nap after about an hour. Luckily she went down very easily. Along with Uncle Al and Tracy, we got to see my Aunt Jamie and Uncle Earl from Missouri, Aunt Ranet and Pete, and my cousin Mickey with his wife Kristi and their son Landon. It was great to visit with family, and it made me realize we go WAY too long without hanging out unless it is for holidays. We must do this more often. That afternoon, my Uncle Al, Aunt Tracy and Aunt Jamie began cooking the most amazing food EVER! We had a fish and shrimp fry, awesome fried okra, yummy twice baked potatoes, purple hull peas, homemade hush puppies, all with homemade tarter and cocktail sauce. MMMMMMMM! Wish I had some more right now! We got to eat, chat and play with the kiddos. Brae enjoyed running back and forth in the house since it made a REALLY loud noise on the hardwood. She also loved rocking in the rocking chairs on the huge deck out front. We can't wait to go to the beach again!
