The week before Easter, Braelyn had to have tubes put into her ears to prevent her recurrent infections. She was such a trooper, and the procedure was SOOO fast. We really like her ENT too. He is great with kids. Brae had a very quick recovery, and since Brad and I were both off for Good Friday, we decided to begin potty training. I was originally going to wait until summer, but I was getting anxious knowing Anna Kate will make her arrival in the summer and I just wanted to make sure we only had one in diapers if possible. Plus, Braelyn was definitely showing signs of potty readiness. On Day 1, she went completely naked and we stayed in the house all day. She did pretty well. We rewarded her with 2 M&M's every time she went peepee on the potty. Day 2 was also a success, but she did have a poo accident that she blamed on Ranger. Ha! Seriously, where does she get this stuff? On Day 2 (Saturday) we also went to church for Easter evening, and she was accident free! Day 3 was a little more difficult. She had several tantrums and didn't really want to go on the potty. Then Monday we were back to work and she was off to Nana's. Nana did such a fantastic job of keeping up with the potty training and she only had one accident at her house. I was really nervous about sending Brae to school on Tuesday in panties. I emailed her teacher and let her know about the potty training and they were more than willing to help in any way they could. Well, when Braelyn first got to school she refused to go on their potty. She didn't like the big potty. She ended up having a few accidents that morning becuase she refused to sit on the potty. Finally her teachers found a different potty topper (Pooh Bear) and Braelyn LOVED it. She suddenly wanted to potty at school. Since then, she has had no more accidents at school. She was basically fully trained in just under a week...number 2 is still difficult because she is scared. But we are SOOOOO proud of her!!! Here are some pictures of her Easter egg hunt and the splash pad we got her.
On another note, today was picture day at her school, and she refused to get her picture done. She told me she was scared of the tent. I am assuming the "tent" must be the photographer's equipment. Hopefully Thursday she will be fine for retakes after discussing that the "tent" won't hurt her. Such a silly goose!
